Welcome to the home of the DeVos Cardiovascular Research Program, a joint effort between Van Andel Institute and Spectrum Health. Using an interdisciplinary and translational approach, we investigate the heart’s potential to heal itself in order to develop the next generation of cardiac therapies. We have four main focus areas: cell engineering; cell source identification; multi-center patient treatment and clinical trials; and scientific training and career development for future scientists including interns, fellows and graduate students.
DeVos Cardiovascular Research Program
Our basic science program investigates and develops new strategies to regenerate heart muscle, an endeavor important to all types of heart failure.
Our clinical group plans trials in late-stage heart failure patients with the goal of identifying and optimizing patient populations for novel therapy.
